In this section we will discuss about the Indian team's selection for the Pakistan tour.
It can be said that the selectors have done a fairly good job in selecting the team for the tour. However a couple of selections are still being questioned.
Ashish Nehra who was not fit after returning from Australia has been given another chance.
Murali Kartik retains his place understandably as the subcontinental conditions will assist spin.
Rohan Gavaskar was surprisingly omitted from the side. From whatever little oppurtunity he had got in Australia, he did a fairly good job, but was found missing from the list. Mohammad Kaif has been put in place of Gavaskar.
It would have been possible to take an extra batsman in Nehra's place. If Nehra is required, because of injury to any other bowler, he can be sent at that point of time.
Apart from swapping Nehra with Gavaskar, I think the rest of the selection is fine. The inclusion of Pawar is a very good move as he is a hard hitting batsman and more than a handful off spinner.
Have your say on this topic.

TEXT ok its is said fine that gaskr hasbeen repaced by kaif but what about badani?common yaar badani is not in form as well .. Well I think badani although was not that effiecient in Australia, did score some runs, but so did gavaskar. I just think that the selectors are giving badani a last chance. And it is because of this last chance gavaskar has not got a chance this time. However, I still think that a batsman should have been picked over a bowler. Gavaskar for Nehra.

From batting point of view I think the selectors have done a very good job but, I would not want to say about the bowling because according to my opinion the bowling selection would not matter unless the regular bowlers perform well for the team and would not be giving away sixes and fours at regular intervals because of which the team has to suffer (no serious offence to the bowling of India).
Only doubt in my mind is about the selection of Rohan Gavaskar.

After yesterday's game in Karachi I think Nehra has got himself another game. I think Kartik is just a wrong choice although he came back strongly getting 2 important wickets of Inzamam and Younis Khan, I think he is not going to give the Pakistani batsman and problem. Sehwag was brilliant. 79 of the greatest runs and a very important wicket of Youhana.
Maybe it will be wise to pick Pawar for Kartik in the next match.
